‘Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation— if you continue in your faith, established and firm, and do not move from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, have become a servant. ‘
Colossians 1:21-23 https://www.bible.com/bible/111/COL.1.21-23
Yahweh. God’s name means ‘I am who I am.’ There is something so powerful about the meaning of His name. You and I are the children of the ‘Great I am.’ We have talked about how we were once His enemy. Yet, His love was more powerful than our hatred for Him. Christianity is not just about going to Heaven or being reconciled to Him. There is a lot more that comes with this.
As an adopted child of Yahweh, you are given many gifts, and power and authority are two of them. Making God the number one in your life allows you to walk with strength in this power and authority. You understand who you are and your past means absolutely nothing on the purpose God has for your life. This pursuit of God allows you to look at your mistakes, your tragedies, your victories, and everything in between as the purpose God has set before you.
I know I had us look at the ugly side of ourselves, but you have to realize, God does not hold this against you. It was not to condemn you, but for honesty and integrity. God is not expecting you to be perfect, but to understand that because of what Yeshua has done, you can live now blemish free. That you can stand firm and that this should give you hope. That you will become like Paul, a servant to this good news. Part of making God number one is to make sure that you are not hoarding this gift that has been given to you. It is for everyone.
This is God’s solution to the evil in this world. One day it will end and there will no longer be any evil. We are victorious. We should not live in fear of the things in this world that are perverse. We have victory over it. We do not have to fight them with laws or actually physically hurt them. What God has also done is unveiled the true enemy and where our fight should take place.
I wanted this post to lead into next month’s post. As you truly put our Father first in your life, you will grow in His strength. You will understand who you are and what you stand for. My prayer is that we all live victoriously in the knowledge of our Father. We are going to look at the books of Ephesians and Acts, so we understand what it means to be a believer in authority. That when we are done you are EMPOWERED.
‘ Father God fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that I may live a life worthy of the You, Lord and please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that I may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the You. You who have qualified me to share in the inheritance of Your holy people in the kingdom of light. For You have rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. ‘
In Yeshua’s (Jesus) Name I Pray, Amen.
